On Wednesday 17 June 2026, at 6 pm, the Teatro di San Carlo hosts \"A Napoli la musica cambia\", the major event that brings the energy and talent of the region's youth orchestras to the stage of the Naples opera house. Four ensembles alternate with a programme of about twenty minutes each: the Orchestra a Plettro della Penisola Sorrentina directed by Michele De Martino, the ChamberCelli Ensemble by Aurelio Bertucci, the Du\u00e6 Sicili\u00e6 Sax Ensemble by Gianfranco Brundo and Giuseppe Galiano, and the Piccola Orchestra di Forcella directed by Paolo Acunzo.<\/p>\n

The Orchestra a Plettro della Penisola Sorrentina brings the sound of plucked instruments to the San Carlo, between tradition and international openness: The Song of Japanese Autumn by Yasuo Kuwahara, the Allegro from Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and Viaticum by Salvatore Della Vecchia. The other ensembles move through the great European repertoire, from Bizet to Grieg, from Dvo\u0159\u00e1k to Saint-Sa\u00ebns and M\u00e1rquez.<\/p>\n
In the finale, all 150 young musicians come together in a single large orchestra directed by Gennaro Cappabianca, in the Intermezzo from Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana.
